    • 950 g- best for body sensitivities; as dense or denser than sheepskin

  • Eco‑friendly and manufactured on Vancouver Island

  • Stabilized with potato starch, vegan, natural, and safe

Which Wool Density Should I Choose?

850 g Wool Density

Perfect for most practitioners and ideal for wood floors.

950 g Wool Density

Recommended for:

  • Sensitive joints

  • Long meditation holds

  • Practitioners who prefer deeper cushioning

  • Those who love the feel of sheepskin‑level density

Why Yogis Meditate on Wool

For thousands of years, yogis have chosen wool for meditation because of its energetic and physical benefits:

  • Wool carries a high, divine frequency

  • Wool is a negative ion, grounding, calming, and stabilizing

  • Wool helps shield from EMF waves

  • Wool supports long, steady holds without discomfort

  • Wool promotes blood circulation and deep relaxation

These mats are often called vegan sheepskin mats because no animals are harmed, the wool is shorn gently, the sheep live on, and the fabric is stabilized naturally.

No Sheep Are Harmed — Truly Vegan Wool Mats

Our wool is:

  • Shorn without injury

  • Super‑washed and knitted into a porous, breathable fabric

  • Stabilized with potato starch

  • Crafted to look and feel like sheepskin, without the hide

The superwash process is environmentally safe. The manufacturer tested the water at the end of the cycle, it is unpolluted, untainted, and uncontaminated.

Shedding & Heat Notes

  • Light shedding is normal at first (even Persian carpets shed)

  • Wool is renewable, sustainable, and long‑lasting

  • In hot temperatures, wool absorbs moisture, which can make it feel slightly less soft, this is natural and temporary

Why Use a Sheep Wool Yoga Mat

1. Moisture Absorption

Wool absorbs moisture instead of becoming slippery, giving you a secure, grounded grip, even during sweaty practices.

2. Naturally Bacteria‑Resistant

Wool repels bacteria and fungi, keeping your mat fresh and hygienic.

3. Durable & Long‑Lasting

Wool maintains its loft, shape, and support for years, far longer than synthetic mats.

4. Thermoregulating

Warm in winter, cool in summer, wool keeps your body in balance.

5. Soft, Supportive Cushioning

Wool fibres create natural loft that cushions joints and supports long holds.

6. Grounding & Energetically Supportive

Wool helps you feel centered, calm, and connected, ideal for meditation and Kundalini practice.

Sheepskin vs. Sheep Wool Fabric

  • Sheepskin = hide + wool attached

  • Sheep wool fabric = wool fibre shorn from the sheep, knitted into a backing

  • Our mats use sheep wool fabric, making them washable, breathable, and humane

What Is Sheep Wool Fabric?

Our wool fabric is made from:

  • 100% wool fibre (shorn from sheep)

  • Knitted into a nylon grid for strength and shape retention

  • Stabilized with a medical‑grade acrylic compound

This creates a washable, durable material that looks like sheepskin, without the hide.

General Care

  • Expect light shedding at first

  • Air‑fluff in dryer (no heat) for 5 minutes to remove loose fibres

  • Keep away from high heat and direct sunlight

  • Wool may “clump” over time, this does not affect performance

  • Brush with a metal brush after washing if you prefer a fluffier look

With proper care, your wool yoga mat will last many, many years.

Washing Instructions

  • Machine wash on delicate in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C)

  • Use wool soap with lanolin or tea tree oil

  • Air dry flat, wool side down, cotton side up

  • You may tumble dry without heat to fluff

  • Remove at 85% dry

  • Spot clean with warm water (up to 70°C) and disinfecting soap

  • Do not bleach

Wool is naturally antimicrobial and does not require frequent washing. To freshen, hang outside in moist air, out of direct sunlight.

100% Natural

Wool is a completely natural fiber, produced year-round by over 68 million sheep in Australia. These sheep thrive on a simple diet of grass, water, fresh air, and sunshine.

Biodegradable

Once wool fibers are discarded, they naturally break down in soil within a few years, gradually returning beneficial nutrients to the ground.

Naturally Breathable

Merino wool is highly breathable, with fibers that can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapor and release it into the air through evaporation.

Wrinkle Resistant

On a microscopic scale, each Merino wool fiber acts like a tiny spring, bouncing back to its original shape after being bent. This natural elasticity helps Merino garments resist wrinkling.

100% Renewable

Australian sheep grow a new fleece annually, making wool a fully renewable natural fiber.
