Sheep Wool Wheelchair Covers

Breathable comfort, pressure relief, and full‑chair protection for everyday use

Our Sheep Wool Wheelchair Covers are designed to bring natural comfort, warmth, and protection to every part of the wheelchair. Made from Merino sheep’s wool‑pile fabric, these covers help regulate body temperature, wick away moisture, and reduce pressure points, making long hours of sitting more comfortable and supportive.

Sheep’s wool absorbs 30–40% of its weight in moisture, releasing it into the air to prevent dampness, irritation, and bacterial growth. It is naturally antimicrobial and antibacterial, making it ideal for individuals with sensitive skin, limited mobility, or pressure‑related concerns.

We offer covers for every part of the wheelchair, seat, back, arm panels, leg panels, foot plates, and headrests, available individually or as a complete set.

What Is Sheep Wool Fabric?

Our wool fabric is made from:

  • Real wool fibres (sheared from the sheep)

  • A soft nylon grid

  • A medical‑grade acrylic stabilizer

This creates a plush, breathable material that looks like sheepskin but without the hide, making it durable, washable, and ideal for medical and palliative care use.

Care Instructions

  • Machine wash on delicate in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C)

  • Use wool soap with lanolin (e.g., Eucalan)

  • Air dry or tumble with NO heat

  • Remove from dryer at 85% dry- remaining moisture evaporates naturally

  • Spot clean with warm water (up to 70°C) and disinfecting soap

  • Avoid bleach, high heat, and direct sunlight

Wool is naturally antimicrobial and does not require frequent washing. To freshen, hang outside in moist air (out of sunlight); the wool will release moisture and self‑refresh.

100% Natural

Wool is a completely natural fiber, produced year-round by over 68 million sheep in Australia. These sheep thrive on a simple diet of grass, water, fresh air, and sunshine.

Biodegradable

Once wool fibers are discarded, they naturally break down in soil within a few years, gradually returning beneficial nutrients to the ground.

Naturally Breathable

Merino wool is highly breathable, with fibers that can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapor and release it into the air through evaporation.

Wrinkle Resistant

On a microscopic scale, each Merino wool fiber acts like a tiny spring, bouncing back to its original shape after being bent. This natural elasticity helps Merino garments resist wrinkling.

100% Renewable

Australian sheep grow a new fleece annually, making wool a fully renewable natural fiber.
