The Severe Swelling Boot is designed for individuals who need maximum room, full opening access, and gentle protection for swollen feet, large dressings, or fragile post‑surgical skin. Made from 1" medical‑density Merino sheep’s wool fabric, it provides breathable warmth, moisture control, and soft cushioning from heel to toe.

Sheep’s wool naturally regulates temperature, helping muscles stay warm and relaxed. It absorbs 30–40% of its weight in moisture, releasing it into the air to prevent dampness, irritation, and bacterial growth. Its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties make it an excellent choice for individuals with restricted mobility or vulnerable skin.

This boot opens completely, allowing the foot to step directly into the system, ideal for caregivers and for those who cannot tolerate narrow openings or pressure. The deep, roomy toe box accommodates swelling and sensitive toes, while the rubber sole allows for safe transfers and light walking.

What Is Sheep Wool Fabric?

Our wool fabric is made from:

• real wool fibres (sheared from the sheep)

• a soft nylon grid

• a medical‑grade acrylic stabilizer

This creates a plush, breathable material that looks like sheepskin  but without the hide, making it durable, washable, and ideal for medical and palliative care use.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash on delicate in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C)

• Use wool soap with lanolin (e.g., Eucalan)

• Air dry or tumble with NO heat

• Remove from dryer at 85% dry; remaining moisture evaporates naturally

• Spot clean with warm water (up to 70°C) and disinfecting soap if there is concern for bacteria

• Avoid bleach, high heat, and direct sunlight

Wool is naturally antimicrobial and does not require frequent washing. To freshen, hang outside in moist air (out of sunlight); the wool will release moisture and self‑refresh.
