Sheep Wool Leg Pads — Soft, Breathable Protection from Knee to Ankle

Medical‑Density Wool • Moisture‑Wicking • Infection‑Control Safe

Our Sheep Wool Leg Pads provide gentle cushioning, breathable warmth, and natural protection for the lower leg, ideal for individuals with fragile skin, swelling, circulation concerns, or limited mobility. Each pad extends from knee to ankle and secures easily with three Velcro straps, allowing the closure to open fully for effortless placement and removal.

Made from medical‑density Merino wool fabric with a ½‑inch wool pile, these pads offer soft, breathable comfort while helping regulate temperature and wick away moisture. Wool absorbs 30–40% of its weight in moisture, keeping the skin dry and reducing the risk of irritation or breakdown. Its naturally antimicrobial properties make it a safe, hygienic choice for long‑term wear.

Each pad is priced individually and designed for daily comfort, recovery, and skin protection. Part of our trusted line of sheep wool medical products and long‑term care wool products.

What the Fabric Is Made Of

Our medical wool fabric is created using:

  • Real wool fibres (sheared from the sheep)

  • A soft nylon grid

  • A medical‑grade acrylic stabilizer

The wool is “knitted” into the nylon grid, then stabilized with acrylic to create a flat, durable surface that looks and feels like sheepskin but without the hide. This makes the material machine washable, breathable, and ideal for medical and palliative care use.

Washing Instructions

  • Machine wash on delicate in cool or lukewarm water (up to 70°C)

  • Use a wool soap containing lanolin (e.g., Eucalan)

  • Air dry or tumble with NO heat

  • Remove from dryer at 85% dry,  remaining moisture evaporates naturally

  • Spot clean with warm water (up to 70°C) Eucalan or disinfecting soap if needed

  • Avoid bleach, high heat, and direct sunlight

Wool is naturally antimicrobial and does not require frequent washing. To freshen, hang outside in moist air (out of sunlight); the wool will release moisture and self‑refresh.

100% Natural

Wool is a completely natural fiber, produced year-round by over 68 million sheep in Australia. These sheep thrive on a simple diet of grass, water, fresh air, and sunshine.

Biodegradable

Once wool fibers are discarded, they naturally break down in soil within a few years, gradually returning beneficial nutrients to the ground.

Naturally Breathable

Merino wool is highly breathable, with fibers that can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapor and release it into the air through evaporation.

Wrinkle Resistant

On a microscopic scale, each Merino wool fiber acts like a tiny spring, bouncing back to its original shape after being bent. This natural elasticity helps Merino garments resist wrinkling.

100% Renewable

Australian sheep grow a new fleece annually, making wool a fully renewable natural fiber.
