Why Wool Makes a Difference

Sheep wool naturally:

  • Regulates temperature, keeping feet warm without overheating

  • Absorbs 30–40% of its weight in moisture, keeping skin dry

  • Is naturally antimicrobial, helping maintain a clean, fresh environment

  • Reduces friction and pressure, protecting delicate areas from sores and irritation

  • Promotes comfort and circulation, especially for atrophied or low‑volume feet

This makes the Bed Boot an excellent choice for individuals who are bed‑bound, have limited mobility, or need gentle, continuous protection.

What Is Sheep Wool Fabric?

Our medical wool fabric is made from:

  • real wool fibres (sheared from the sheep)

  • a soft nylon grid

  • a medical‑grade acrylic stabilizer

This creates a plush, breathable material that looks and feels like sheepskin but without the hide, making it machine washable up to 70°C and ideal for long‑term use.

All Soul Comfort Medical wool products meet Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC) guidelines.

Care Instructions

  • Machine wash on delicate in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C)

100% Natural

Wool is a completely natural fiber, produced year-round by over 68 million sheep in Australia. These sheep thrive on a simple diet of grass, water, fresh air, and sunshine.

Biodegradable

Once wool fibers are discarded, they naturally break down in soil within a few years, gradually returning beneficial nutrients to the ground.

Naturally Breathable

Merino wool is highly breathable, with fibers that can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapor and release it into the air through evaporation.

Wrinkle Resistant

On a microscopic scale, each Merino wool fiber acts like a tiny spring, bouncing back to its original shape after being bent. This natural elasticity helps Merino garments resist wrinkling.

100% Renewable

Australian sheep grow a new fleece annually, making wool a fully renewable natural fiber.
