Why This Package Works

Hypochlorous Acid — Nature’s Own Wound Cleanser

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is the same antimicrobial molecule produced by white blood cells to fight infection. Through electrolysis of water and salt, we create pure, stable HOCl,  a powerful yet gentle disinfectant.

Benefits:

  • Kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi

  • Prevents infection

  • Non‑toxic, non‑stinging, and safe around eyes, nose, and mouth

  • Accelerates tissue repair

Perfect for cuts, abrasions, hot spots, surgical sites, and irritated skin.

Lanolin — Nourish & Soothe Naturally

Lanolin is a waxy, nutrient‑rich substance sheep produce to protect their wool. It is deeply healing for compromised skin.

Benefits:

  • Retains up to 400× its weight in moisture

  • Forms a breathable, protective barrier

  • Reduces inflammation

  • Antimicrobial and antifungal

  • Supports healing and minimizes scarring

Lanolin is especially helpful for dry, cracked, or irritated skin.

Sheep’s Wool — Breathable Protection

Medical‑grade wool provides:

  • Cushioning

  • Moisture absorption

  • Temperature regulation

  • Antimicrobial protection

  • Reduced friction and pressure

Wool is excellent for protecting hot spots, preventing rubbing, and supporting healing in sensitive areas.

How to Use the Pet Wound Care Package

  1. Clean the area with Hypochlorous Acid Spray. Let it air dry.

  2. Apply a thin layer of lanolin directly to the skin.

  3. If using loose wool, apply lanolin to the wool first, then place it on the wound.

  4. For extra protection, apply a wool square over the area.

  5. Use a 100% cotton T‑shirt to prevent your dog from reaching the site.

  6. For leg wounds, we offer custom sheepskin leg protector, email us with measurements.

What Is the Difference Between Sheepskin and Sheep Wool?

  • Sheepskin includes the hide with the wool still attached.

  • Sheep wool is the fibre shorn from the sheep and used to create breathable, washable wool products.

At Soul Comfort, we use sheep wool fabric for most of our products because it is soft, durable, and machine washable.

What Is Sheep Wool Fabric?

Our wool fabric is made from:

  • Wool fibre (sheared from sheep)

  • A soft nylon grid

  • A medical‑grade acrylic stabilizer

The wool is “knitted” into the grid and stabilized to create a flat, plush surface that looks like sheepskin, without the hide, making it washable and ideal for wound care.

General Care

  • Expect light shedding at first; this is normal

  • Keep away from high heat and direct sunlight

  • Wool may “clump” over time, but this does not affect performance

  • Brush lightly after laundering if you prefer a fluffier look

Washing Instructions

  • Machine wash on delicate in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C)

  • Use wool soap with lanolin (e.g., Eucalan)

  • Air dry or tumble with NO heat

  • Remove from dryer at 85% dry

  • Spot clean with warm water (up to 70°C) and disinfecting soap

  • Do not bleach

Wool is naturally antimicrobial and does not require frequent washing. To freshen, hang outside in moist air (out of sunlight); the wool will release moisture and self‑refresh.

100% Natural

Wool is a completely natural fiber, produced year-round by over 68 million sheep in Australia. These sheep thrive on a simple diet of grass, water, fresh air, and sunshine.

Biodegradable

Once wool fibers are discarded, they naturally break down in soil within a few years, gradually returning beneficial nutrients to the ground.

Naturally Breathable

Merino wool is highly breathable, with fibers that can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapor and release it into the air through evaporation.

Wrinkle Resistant

On a microscopic scale, each Merino wool fiber acts like a tiny spring, bouncing back to its original shape after being bent. This natural elasticity helps Merino garments resist wrinkling.

100% Renewable

Australian sheep grow a new fleece annually, making wool a fully renewable natural fiber.
