WOOL BABY BLANKETS
Warmth That Breathes. Comfort That Calms. A Heritage You Can Feel.
Our Soul Comfort Wool Baby Blankets are woven from ethically sourced, premium-grade wool chosen for its softness, breathability, and natural ability to keep your baby warm without overheating.
Unlike synthetic blankets that trap heat or cotton that loses warmth quickly, wool responds to your baby’s body — insulating when they need warmth, releasing heat when they don’t. It’s nature’s most intelligent fibre, trusted for centuries to keep little ones safe, dry, and deeply comfortable.

What Makes Our Blankets Exceptional
•     Temperature intelligent — keeps baby warm without overheating
•     Naturally breathable — prevents moisture buildup and clamminess
•     Soft, soothing texture — gentle on newborn skin
•     Lightweight but insulating — perfect for layering in every season
•     Heritage craftsmanship — made with care, intention, and decades of wool expertise
These blankets become the ones families reach for again and again — for naps, stroller walks, car rides, and quiet moments of connection. They’re heirloom pieces meant to be loved, washed, passed down, and remembered.
Wrap your baby in the warmth nature intended.

Sheep wool is a natural material known for its gentle and supportive qualities, creating a womb-like experience. Its unique insulating properties provide warmth during colder months and keep babies cool in warmer months. The wool's ability to retain body heat helps regulate core temperature throughout the year, while also aiding in relieving gas and promoting digestion. Plus, it absorbs the familiar scents of parents, making it a popular choice for baby blankets.

We work with the highest quality, 100% pure Sheep Wool Fabric.
Half-inch wool pile, lightweight (350g) wool fibre stabilized on a nylon/acrylic backing and 100% cotton flannel layer.

Give Your Baby the Womb Environment They Remember

Why choose a Sheep Wool Blanket for your newborn?

When providing the best sleeping environment for newborns, choosing a sheep's wool blanket is optimal. The unique properties of sheep's wool make it the perfect material for promoting comfort, health, and overall well-being for babies.

Sheep's wool is known for its natural resistance to bacteria, mould, and fungus. This means that when your baby sleeps on a wool blanket, you can rest assured that they are sleeping in a clean, hygienic environment. Wool's ability to repel these harmful microorganisms helps to prevent skin irritations and allergies, keeping your baby's delicate skin healthy and protected.

Furthermore, sheep's wool has excellent temperature-regulating properties. It can help keep your baby warm in cold weather and cool in warm weather. This is because wool can absorb and release moisture, allowing your baby to maintain a comfortable body temperature throughout the night. This is especially beneficial for newborns, as they cannot yet regulate their body temperature effectively.

Another advantage of sleeping in sheep's wool is its softness and cushioning. Wool fibres are incredibly soft and gentle, providing your baby with a cozy and comfortable sleeping surface. This can help promote better sleep quality and reduce the risk of discomfort or restlessness during the night.

Additionally, sheep's wool is a sustainable and eco-friendly choice. It is a renewable resource that can be sheared from sheep without harming the animals. By choosing a wool blanket for your baby, you are making a conscious decision to support sustainable practices and reduce your environmental impact.

In conclusion, sleeping in sheep's wool is nourishing and the best choice for newborns. Its natural resistance to bacteria, mould, and fungus, temperature-regulating properties, softness, and sustainability make it the ideal material for creating a comfortable, healthy, and safe sleeping environment for your baby. Invest in a wool blanket today and give your baby the gift of restful, nurturing sleep.

General care:

Expect a small amount of shedding when the product is new, as it may release some loose fibres. You can machine air-fluff (no heat) for 5 minutes to remove excess fibres. Keep away from high heat and direct sunlight.

Over time and with more use, wool fibres will naturally bind together, creating a more ‘clumped’ look. This change in the look does not affect the performance of the wool. You will still receive all of the natural and beautiful benefits. If you prefer a fluffier look, you can brush the product with a metal brush after laundering.

With care, your wool products will last many, many years.

Washing instructions:

Machine washable on delicate setting in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C) with a wool soap containing lanolin, such as Eucalan. Air drying is recommended. You may use a dryer WITHOUT HEAT to fluff your product. Remove from dryer before it dries completely (up to 85%). The excess moisture will not be felt and will quickly disperse into the air.

Wool is anti-microbial and will not need excessive laundering. To freshen your product, air it out by hanging it outside when the air is moist, out of direct sunlight. When you bring it back inside, the wool will release the moisture into the air—this moisture redistribution results in a refreshing.

100% Natural

Wool is a completely natural fiber, produced year-round by over 68 million sheep in Australia. These sheep thrive on a simple diet of grass, water, fresh air, and sunshine.

Biodegradable

Once wool fibers are discarded, they naturally break down in soil within a few years, gradually returning beneficial nutrients to the ground.

Naturally Breathable

Merino wool is highly breathable, with fibers that can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapor and release it into the air through evaporation.

Wrinkle Resistant

On a microscopic scale, each Merino wool fiber acts like a tiny spring, bouncing back to its original shape after being bent. This natural elasticity helps Merino garments resist wrinkling.

100% Renewable

Australian sheep grow a new fleece annually, making wool a fully renewable natural fiber.
